A throwback to our yearly Industry Summit! | |
From 10 to 12 November, Lusófona University hosted the FilmEU Industry Summit 2025 in partnership with the LEFFEST – Lisbon Film Festival, bringing together academics, industry professionals, and experts to explore the future of the creative industries. The event spanned three days of workshops, talks, and case studies, covering topics such as virtual production, AI in cinema, and contemporary filmmaking. | |

FiHub public presentation | During the Industry Summit, FiHub hosted a public presentation of student projects and the presentation of the FiHub Awards. The demonstration day showcased a wide range of innovative initiatives developed within the FilmEU Alliance’s virtual incubator
Continue reading. | | The FilmEU Ideation Week 2025 took place in October at VIA University College in Denmark, bringing students together for an intensive collaborative programme focused on developing short fiction film concepts around the theme: Community and Collaboration. As part of the FilmEU Challenge, students will now go on to create 1–5 minute short films within creative constraints, rooted in local languages and contexts.

Pathfinder- Our Joint BA The first cohort of Pathfinder, the Joint International BA in Film, began its journey in September, and our first Joint Bachelor programme has already received international recognition. At the Joint and Double Programmes in Europe conference hosted by the University of Lodz, course coordinator Dr Deirdre O’Toole was awarded the International Collaboration Award, celebrating the ambition of FilmEU and the strong creative and institutional partnership behind Pathfinder. | | | |

AGORA Position paper published We‘ve launched our landmark position paper on the impact of AI on future jobs in film and media, developed through our pioneering AGORA think tank (2024-2025) that brought together academics and students across the consortium for months of discussions, workshops, and expert exchanges. The paper reflects the collective vision of the alliance and aims to serve as an educational resource and thought‑provoking contribution to debates on the future of work in creative industries, resonating with educators, practitioners, and policymakers beyond FilmEU. | | | |

FilmEU Micro-Credentials Academy | We have launched the FilmEU Micro-Credentials Academy, a new lifelong learning initiative offering an initial catalogue of 40 industry-aligned courses designed to support upskilling and reskilling in the European audiovisual sector.
