FilmEU partner institutions are invited to nominate 2 mentors from their faculty, staff, or professional networks.
Nominated mentors should either: - Already be attending the FilmEU Film Festival & Summit in Brussels, or
- Be available to participate virtually
Please note that no dedicated travel budget is available for this initiative. | |

Mentors will meet students in two short 15-minute sessions, offering a focused opportunity for exchange, discussion, and guidance.
The exact timing of these sessions can be defined by the mentors based on their availability and individual summit schedules, provided that meetings take place between 23–25 June. | |

Approach and Learning Design | |
The aim of this initiative is to support students in developing agency and professional confidence when approaching industry professionals.
Students are responsible for selecting mentors they consider most relevant and approaching them with clear, focused questions. Mentors are not expected to be familiar with student projects in advance, reflecting real industry conditions.
The focus is therefore not only on project-specific feedback, but also on understanding the mentor’s expertise, perspective, and relevance for broader professional development.
Multiple students may sign up for the same mentoring slot, and mentors are free to prioritise whom they meet. This reflects real-world professional dynamics and encourages students to think strategically about how they present themselves and communicate value. | |
