New: Joint Bachelor in Film | |
FilmEU is launching its very first Joint International Bachelor in film: Pathfinder in the academic year 2025-2026. This bachelor’s degree is a collaboration between 6 out of 8 FilmEU partners and will combine hybrid and in-person learning, enabling students to develop creative and technical skills while exploring diverse filmmaking cultures. Each semester, students can study at a different partner institution, a truly European-wide educational experience. Learn more at filmeu.eu/pathfinder | |

The first FilmEU Industry Summit was a success! | |
From 18 to 21 November, BFM – Tallinn University welcomed staff, students and industry advisors to imagine the future with(in) the creative industry. Key highlights were the Imagination Challenge, Agora and the launch of the FilmEU Observatory and FIHUB! - The Imagination Challenge let Generation Z take the stage. The FilmEU students pitched their creative ideas on how film festivals and filmmakers can connect with Gen Z audiences and curate experiences that resonate with them.

Sixteen FilmEU students participated in Agora, a think tank initiative that brings together academics and students. This edition focused on exploring the opportunities and challenges of AI in higher education. | |

- FilmEU observatory and FIHUB launched!
The Observatory will produce policy documents which make the outcomes of FilmEU’s activities available to the broader community. While FIHUB (FilmEU Innovation Hub) will offer virtual support for student-driven project innovation and entrepreneurship. | |

68 students participated in the Ideation Week of our Annual Challenge! | |
At NATFA in Sofia, Bulgaria, students from the four participating FilmEU institutions met their tutors and were assigned to mixed production teams for this year’s challenge. The theme ‘Water’ inspired them to brainstorm and develop creative storylines for their upcoming short films, which they will produce together in February. | |
